  • Pastor Cynthia's notes. There have been things that we have been going through, in this year that have tried to throw us (Jn. 14:1). Even in that, we have to remain standing, and fortified in God. God has been warning g us that situations will happen, and doors will close in our faces, but we still have to stand. The truth being told, if it hadn't been for the Grace of God, things and situations would have thrown us. The situations are not meant to take us out, but to serve as a warning. In the time of warning, we have to lay pride aside to let others pray for us in the time of adversity, so that we are not easily thrown.

  • Pastor Ernest's notes. In the last days, people will leave and stop believing in the faith (I Tim. 4:1). These people had no intentions to leave the faith, but because of distractions, it caused them to stray away from God. Also lack of preparation can also be a deterrent, and cause us to be thrown and tossed about. Seducing spirits (Spirit of being self-absorbed), and doctrine of devils, have a way of turning our attention away from God. We are so absorbed, and into ourselves, that we lose focus on the assignment from God.

  • God gives ministry to the church (Eph. 4:11-14). We need to understand that we are nothing in and of ourselves. We need godly people speaking into our lives. The Bible is full of exhortations, and warnings of how not to be thrown. Attacks from the enemy, however, can throw us. We have to listen to the warnings of God. Also, God gives us assignments. For example, God speaks to Joshua about the assignment of leading the Children of Israel into the Promise Land. In our daily assignments, we can get timid and afraid by the assignment, that we get thrown. God tells Joshua, do not deviate from the assignment, but observe to do all that God wanted him to do. In do that, Joshua would have great success. Another thing that can throw us is prosperity. We have to beware in obtaining prosperity, that we do not forget God in the process. Don't let the blessings of God throw you. The more we prosper, the bigger our praise ought to be.

  • We have to fortify ourselves, so that the enemy cannot throw us (Matt. 10:17-22). The disciples were being warned by Jesus about what was to come, and that they would be brought before the council, because of their stand for Christ. Know that God will give you strength to stand and give you what to say. God will give you what you need, when you need it most. If God has not given it to you, it's because you don't need it yet. Don't be troubled, because He will supply the need when you need it. The strength that the disciples received was supernaturally given by God, so they would be able to sustain in tough times. We need the Spirit of the Father to keep us from seducing spirits of the enemy. The Spirit of the Father is speaking in to us; "Don't let it throw you!" The disciples were going to be hated because of the Christ they represented, but they couldn't be thrown by that. They had to endure to the end.

  • Think it not strange...but rejoice in the midst of your situation (I Pet. 4:12-13). Wen we give the devil the attention, it glorifies the enemy, who is bring the attack against us. We are to think it not strange, concerning the attack from the enemy. Learn to rejoice. Living godly meeans we will suffer persecution. Most of our behavior is based upon our mental capacity to properly process what is, or is not happening in our life.

  • The temptations we are facing our just common stuff to God (I Cor. 10:13). When we are facing the stuff that have the ability to throw us, God gives us the strength to bear it. We have the strength to bear what the enemy is trying to overcome us with. The only way e can overcome us, is if we let up the pressure on him.

  • There were different seasons in Joseph's (the dreamer) life that could have thrown him. He was hated by his brothers, but was not thrown by that. he was put into a pit, but was not thrown by that. His brothers sold him into slavery, but he wasn't thrown by that. He was put in charge of Potipher's household, but he wasn't thrown by that. He was thrown into prison, but still wasn't thrown by that. When he went to the palace, prosperity did not throw him. Even when the very brothers that hated him come back into his life, he wasn't thrown by it. He refused to be thrown by life's turbulence.

  • So, in order not to be thrown, we must be steadfast (I Cor. 15:58). We have to make a commitment. We are unmoveable, like a rock. We have to be diligent in the work of the Lord. As we do this, our labor will not be in vain. God will pay us off. Even if we get thrown, we can get back up, and get back to the work of God. We have survived the attacks of the enemy, and ourselves. Dont let your situations THROW YOU!!!
